Advice on Situation
I had a first round interview with a firm in my hometown that I would very much like to work for. The interview was with an MD, and at the end of it he told me he thought I would be a great candidate and that it would be great if I could come to the office when I was home on break to meet some of the analysts and other people at the firm. He then said he would email me with some times to set this up. Anyways, I emailed the MD a few days later thanking him for his time, and now I haven't heard anything. Last week I emailed again just checking in and saying it would be great to speak with some other people at the firm if that was still possible, and with the holidays/weekend I haven't heard back yet. I'm now going back to school in 2 days and visiting the office is no longer an option, basically as a result of bad planning/timing. What would you all suggest I do moving forward? I know that a superday would be in the middle of the month (I'd be able to fly back), but I want to stay on their radar/do everything possible to give myself the best chance to be selected for one.

PICK UP THE PHONE AND CALL. You've already chatted with this MD so its not like you are calling out of the blue. You just blew an awesome opportunity because you waited around for an email.
Last email was the 21st- figure it is very possible she was off the week of Christmas until after New Years. To the above- it was complicated because I was out of town the week before Christmas (17-21) and further because I feel bad bothering an MD with a family anytime around the holidays. Who would you suggest calling/contacting- the HR contact or the MD I interviewed with?
Hey man, a lot of people are on vacation or just coming back. I would recommend email after new year. I would only recommend calling if MD knows you pretty well already or it is really urgent.
He's probably out of the office for the Holidays and therefore not being responsive to non-urgent e-mail. Give it a few more days and call him after the 1st if you really want a response
