Alantra in Boston --- Deal Flow / Culture / Pay?

As the title says, how is Alantra's Boston office? It seems that their European offices are quite strong for a boutique/MM firm, but couldn't find anything on the Boston office after it bought C.W. Downer and N+1.

Also, do the summer analysts get paid now? Glassdoor says that C.W. Downer's interns were unpaid but offered a great learning experience... Any thoughts would help!

I interviewed at the Boston office a while ago but can tell you that they've been really high on league tables for a bank that nobody really knows (I never heard of it and I consider myself fairly well versed in banks). Seems top heavy (lots of directors / MD's) for a small number of analysts.

As a junior person, this is probably good but if you're looking for a 20+ person analyst class, you won't find it there. I think the office is like 30 ppl total (if anyone has better knowledge feel free to correct).

From the interviews, generally had a great vibe (there was one guy I just didn't mesh with at all) and seemed like a good middle market bank to start at.

PS: Can confirm they pay interns (might be a new policy after the merger)
