All-nighter? How to manage time efficiently

It doesn't matter whether you are a first-year IB analyst always working past 2 AM or someone like me who has normal full-time hours but is also enrolled at a university - your commitments don't let you have a good sleep, not mentioning family/friends time.

So, these are the tricks that helped me make it through 1.5+ years of full-time work + university study + teaching at Coursera:

Don't waste your time at work

The title says it all and I really mean it. Do you have some free time during lunch? Some extra 20 minutes when your associate/VP is checking your model or pitchbook? Use it to complete other job-related tasks, if you aren't staffed at anything else and you study or smth, then use this time to study.

Delete Facebook

Deletet Facebook, Instargam, etc., or put a blocker on the amount of time you can use those for. Unfollow all trashy-cringy Linkedin 'influencers' that take away your valuable time. Instead, use this time to tackle the workload more effectively.

Quit useless activities overall

Watching TV series? Useless. Playing computer games? Useless. Not only do those waste your time, they actually don't let your brain relax as well. Play sports with friends instead, get some life outside of your office. Get some interesting hobbies that will make you a more interesting person.

Use a planner

Always plan ahead. One of the most relevant skills I've learned is planning my schedule months ahead - this way you will make sure that you don't allocate too much time on things that you don't really want to do that long.

Drink more water and don't consume sugar and caffeine

Quit drinking Cola and everything that contains so much sugar, don't consume caffeine, drink more water - those are all the things that will make your sleep much better, will boost you productivity and slow your weight gain while maintaining an office lifestyle.

Do at least some sports

Allocate at least 15 minutes a day to do at least some fitness - it will immediately help you with your sleep and also will it make your health a little better in the long term. You will also be more productive.

In the end, you know what you've signed up for, so stop Netflixing instead of getting good sleep and stop doing nonsense at your desk in your cubicle instead of doing actual work.
