Alternatives to IB/CF/PE
So I understand that IB and PE make so much money in part because of the lifestyle sacrifices and the brutal hours, but I am curious what other finance careers offer SIMILAR pay to IB and PE (obviously it will be less).

Career Resources
I assume you mean things like AM or WM? Which pays similar, but it's all relative to hours worked of course.
New here, are the hours in WM and AM better than PE or IB?
Finance (as in the institutional career path) boils down to: deals, markets, lending/misc banking services and insurance.
Pick a focus area that you're interested in, capable of breaking into and that will ultimately lead to where you want to be and run with it. Most areas of finance pay well (to different extents) it's a matter of finding where you fit in it all.
Following some "path to dollars" you heard about on an internet forum is not the way to go about choosing a career.
