Alvarez Marsal Restructuring Interview Process + Financial Modeling Test
Hi,
I am an undergraduate student interviewing for a full time position in A&M's RX practice, and was wondering what the interview process looked like. I understand that I will have to first go through a phone screen, followed by some sort of financial modeling test. Is there anymore to the process? What can I expect during the phone screen? Also, and most importantly, what will be asked of me in this financial modeling test? Will they just want me to put together the three financial statements? Or will be more advanced? Also, how would you all recommend prepping for the technicals for this interview process?
Thanks in advance

I did the exact same thing and went through the 12 hour modeling test. its essentially reading a 10k and creating a 3 statement model. As long as balance sheet balances, should be good
Did yours result in negative cash? If so, did you build in taking on additional debt?
was it a take home or live test?
Live test. It's a 3-statement model. Assumptions include a refinanced capital structure with a term loan and revolver (that doesn't break) and a minimum cash balance. Be ready for technicals during superday.

Pretty ridiculous that they try to turn a three-statement model test based on 10K level data into 8 to 12 hours. I guess when you get paid based on billable hours...
Did you recently take the modeling test? If so, do you know how long it takes for them to get back to you?
