Am I Cooked for Junior Year Recruiting?

I'm a student at a target with solid buyside experience at well-known and well regarded shops. My GPA was around a 3.7, but last semester, due to a serious family situation, I ended up failing a course directly relevant to my field. I couldn’t defer since I had to start my internship the next term and wasn’t allowed to take coursework. Now, my GPA has dropped to a 3.4, and I can’t retake the course until the end of next year—meaning it won’t be on my transcript in time for junior year recruiting.

I've tried to appeal, but nothing has worked. Given the timelines, I’m worried about how this will impact my recruiting chances. Is my shot at top firms completely screwed, or is there a way to mitigate this?

Any advice would be appreciated.

Writing this assuming 3.4 is B+ (slightly different system at my uni)- but no you're not cooked, not great situation obv. GPA is still good enough to not drop you out of contention, the F is not great, but explainable. You may need to network 2x more than the next guy but I wouldn't worry too much about it. Be honest if someone asks why, and don't let it mess with your confidence
