Could be over thinking it. Guy I interviewed with responded to my thank you email with "Stay in touch...". I was sure that meant thanks but no thanks. Week later I got an offer.
That being said that doesn't sound like the most assuring send off.
What the hell did you say during the interview that prompted him to say that as he left?
