Amex vs. Citi Prestige vs. Chase Sapphire vs. BA Amex

Hi,

I am an Analyst in London. Which card would you recommend me getting. I dont think the platinum amex is worth the annual fee. For a first year, what cards would you recommend and what are the benefits for each?

Ideas?

I'd say start out with the Chase Sapphire or Citi Prestige simply because they are accepted everywhere as they are Visa and Mastercard respectively. Amex is hit or miss with their merchant acceptability but definitely get one after you start with one of the previous two mentions since the customer service is amazing.
