Amsterdam IB

Hi guys,
Couldn’t find any topic about the subject so creating a new one. I was wondering how were the interviews conducted for IBD positions in Amsterdam? Does it tend to be more technical than London like Germany or more chill?
Any insight would be really appreciated !!
Thanks

Having interviewed for some of the IBs and PEs in Amsterdam, I found the experience more focused on the personality with an obvious threshold of technical skills. You will be required to know the basic things like DCFs, multiples and sometimes even LBOs without hesitation. It can be that you will be asked questions testing your actual understanding of the concepts throughout the interview, rather than just the 'guide questions'. Comparing Amsterdam to London, I think the bar regarding technicals is a bit higher in the sense that in London you can get away with making certain mistakes that you will be punished for in Amsterdam.

However, once you meet that threshold the interview is much more oriented towards fit. Teams are typically small and you will be working very closely with the Analysts and Associates, so they prefer to have someone by their side who they can get along with well. It is quite common for Dutch people to take internships during Undergrad, so there is some competition from people who probably already have a ton of experience and who just 'get it'. So you will need to perform on both the technicals as well as the fit part of the interview.

If you want I can send you a pm to discuss further.
