Wall Street has historically always reinvented itself and come back stronger than ever. I think hardly anyone (if anyone?) on this board was around in 1987, but I bet they thought everything would change forever then too. And I'm sure people thought the party was permanently over in 1929...
I agree, to an extent. I think less people will be attracted to the industry, and therefore less people will be willing to work the hours. For those of us still employed, we're still putting in the hours, but taking the paycheck. But then again, we should all be thankful for what we have in this job market.
