Analyst 1 IB experiences / tasks so far

Hey y’all, very curious to know about other people’s first year investment banking experiences across banks and groups so far. Can everyone drop your typical tasks (ownership of model, admin tasks, PPT heavy, taking notes, etc) below? Also, what culture / type of people have you experienced, being that we’re at the bottom of the food chain?

Would be curious to see everyone’s experience compared to mine across the board.

Also at an EB, this comment is literally me. I still feel retarded lmao

Just finished my first year as full time, been quite rough in terms of workload but I’ve learnt a lot! Important to note that I had 3 internships before starting full time, so basically 1 year extra.

My highlights are as below:

- I’ve had full o/s of creating two operating models from scratch (one buy-side, one sell-side)
- A lot of DD coordination
- Been the main point of contact in a project, ie if the client wants something they contact me for it directly. I do it and then ask my seniors for sign off, and send it to the client
- Project managed a (very) small ECM transaction

+ all the usual stuff, notes, admin, meeting materials, pitches etc etc

This makes me feel so much better. I thought I was behind in my development but i looks were all doing the same work.
