Analyst role to Portfolio Management job
I think this has probably been asked though I would love a response. If someone has a goal of being a Portfolio Manager, would a two year analyst program in banking have any value? Do they do similar 2 year rotations in trading or research?
Also would the benefit of being at a big firm in something like banking help compared to a research job at a less prestigious Mutual fund or Asset Management firm? The posts here typically the job more directly applicable to the job you want is preferable. I am wondering if the prestige of a place like goldman woulld be superior to a more relevant job at a no name firm. Thank you.
