Analysts during deal execution

I am about to start as an IB M&A analyst coming from a role at Big4 in the US, and I don't have too many close connections in IB. So I was wondering what is an analysts role during the execution stage of a transaction?

I understand that building the model forms part of it but surely once bids are in and potential buyers are comfortable with the model/situation then it's mostly due dilligence and legal  so what does an analyst do then? TIA

You will process literally everything. You will folder everything. You will clean and reformat files. You will manage the whole data room. You will ask lawyers where tf your docs are. You will build a data room mirror (that nobody will ever use). You will schedule every call. You will take notes on every call. You will circulate daily / weekly process updates. You will suffer. And you’ll do it with a perpetual smile so each time the buyer, the client, or your md asks how the shit they just threw your way tastes they’ll think you like the taste of shit, you shit eater.
