Definitely a top group in the bank alongside PU&I, Sponsors, HC. Step above Industrials and Consumer in terms of placement.

Long hours, great deal flow. Had some MD churn during the UBS-looting era, but has recovered nicely. The core MDs are still there. Quite a few new hires were poached from GS, BofA, MS, and Citi (you can find them on google), meaning this is clearly a group the IB as a whole is investing in.

Group placement can be dicey (not in the group myself). Definitely particular about who they take— mainly target schools like Harvard, Upenn, NYU Stern, etc. My advice would be to start early.

From what I have heard, recent exits have been mostly MF/UMM— Vista, Apax, BC Partners, MDP, CVC, GTCR, Veritas, HIG, etc. Prep for long hours though…
