Speaking of emerging markets, anyone know anything about Dubai? Looks like a lot of ibanks are going to move there in the next couple decades. There's a lot of oil money there.....

Like boiling weather matters. You spend most of your day in an air-conditioned building. The 20 seconds you spend walking from your house to your car and from your car to the lobby of your office won't kill you. Anyway yeah my mom hates the cold, so it might be a nice place for her. I'm thinking maybe I could do Dubai when Toronto gets boring.

With a population of 80 million and a liberalising regime, I think Vietnam could be a mini China - without the masses joustling for a slice of the cake. Definitely an option for me, except that the language barrier could be a killer.

since English became very popular after the economic reform and now even people in the street can speak some English

I find this thread frankly ridiculous. The OP talks about "new viet investment ops", then claims that he needs to learn about fianance...

The Viet-cong people produce excellent straw hats and spicy noodles, for sure :)

I think they speak french as well as Vietnamese in Vietnam....
