Anyone else not used to excess corporate spending?
Hopefully someone else will appreciate this as well but when I joined “high finance” I did not expect this level of expenses for basic items like food and travel. $500 for a flight when I can just take the bus? $3000 client dinner for no observable return? I also have to remind myself that those at the top are making significantly more despite similar hours / skills. But still it feels excessive…
Yeah bro nobody is taking the fucking bus for some bs work trip. And the point of that $3k client dinner is that a single conversation from that could (potentially) result in a multi-million dollar fee somewhere down the road, worth the expense. What is $3k out of $5 million on a % basis? The answer is 0.06% - you need to think bigger big guy.
