Anyone Else Tired Of The “Carrot” Being Dangled In Front Of You?

Have to babysit the 2nd and 3rd years because they understandably don’t give a shit anymore, while having to take more VP and Director workload to “prove your worth”. Can’t push back, because the same VPs and Directors give feedback to Partners on promotions.

To me, feels as if associates are really feeling the squeeze and caught in the middle, with the promotion carrot constantly dangled in front of us. And once/if that promotion comes, there’s not anyone to do my old job so I’ll be stuck doing the same work but with a different title.

anyone else in a similar situation? Pisses me the fuck off

It's a tough spot man. Taking on workload beyond your title is really hard to do on top of your day to day.

I would have had a really hard time moving up the ranks without my analysts and associates being rockstars and stepping up. We had a good understanding, I did more of my associate/VP's role, and my analyst/associate did more of mine. We came out win win come promo time.

I was looking for a signal to start PE recruitment and I think this is it

This is the part in life where you have to shut the fuck up and pretend to not exist / everything is a simulation and all of your co-workers are robots

It's the only way

If you try to be friends / win politically / do a better job, no matter how you try to better the situation, it won't be seen as you bettering it

This isn't your personal life, it's not about you.

Keep to yourself and if everyone is losing their minds, don't
