Anyone experience this before?

Sounds like my vp has been flip flopping between instruction. He’ll send 1 email saying do X, Y, Z, but then he’ll send another email backpedaling and then saying no no actually do A B C instead. Then he’ll send another email saying just to focus on other projects and enjoy the weekend, then another one on Monday morning asking for status update on the slides.

Feel like I’m not the only one in my group who’s had to deal with this, but wondering if anyone else had gotten into similar situations, or how to address this with my new vp

So many seemingly complicated things can be addressed with a simple email or conversation early on to clear up any misunderstandings or confusion. Any potentially awkward or uncomfortable conversations are actually the ones you should be having. Try not to jump to conclusions that you're not sure about, either about your VP or about the tasks he asked. They should really emphasize this to people who are just starting out to not shy away from asking questions from day 1, and continue to emphasize this
