Anyone here at BB SA looking to pivot into consulting ft?

Currently interning at a BB (think BAML/Citi/CS) in a mid group. Absolutely hating my summer, but apparently my reviews have all been pretty good and people have been telling me I'm on track for a return. I really want to recruit for consulting because the hours are better, but I don't think I'm like the best caser so MBB is gonna be kind of difficult. I was wondering if it's worth giving up the prestige of a BB to go to a T2 firm like Parthenon, Strategy&, Oliver Wyman, etc.

Very very possible, loads of people do it

you just need a good why - you can blame it on lack of variety, hours, not as a steep learning curve

No absolutely do not say you want to move to consulting for the better hours, you will definitely have better hours but "I want to do less work" is not the right message to communicate in an interview esp in consulting

Yeah, tons of people do it. Your answer should be the following:

  • Culture wasn’t what you were looking for. (You don’t need to elaborate, anyone in business will know that means you worked with assholes).
  • You want to actually add value and help build businesses. Also, you are interested more in the strategy of businesses versus how much they are worth.
