Anyone know anything about BAML IBD Summer Analyst recruiting this year?
From what I've heard, they're only recruiting at the Ivy's for SA positions? Not too sure, just wanted to know if they were downsizing their class or something like that.

So both your aunt and your dad are managing directors at BAML? Haha...
Limiting/eliminating full-time recruiting is happening across the Street. This past summer, I believe the three biggest feeders into BAML's summer analyst IBD program were Dartmouth, Vanderbilt, and Penn. Not sure about S&T or anything else.
BAML has some weird stuff going on with it - last year they didn't put a SA position up on our OCR until the day they beat earnings, and the position was only up for 2 or 3 days if I remember correctly. Either way it was a really short period of time, and it was super late in the process. Most banks had a January 1 deadline and the position was up for like 6 weeks, and they didn't put their position up until 2.5 weeks after that.
Not that it's much help to you, but I thought I would share that there were similar things happening last year.
A family friend told me that BAML has mostly wrapped up their SA recruiting which seems very odd considering this was right when they posted a position on OCR at my (non-ivy) school. Who knows what is happening with them.
They have a posting on my school's OCR. Apps are due in January.
I imagine same as most other firms- recruiting will kick off in January- don't see any reason they would hire significantly different numbers than in the past.
West coast hasn't changed. But they're NOT recruiting at NYU this year. Heard it from NYU seniors as well as BAML first years. Dunno why, but it's official.
BAML is definitely still recruiting for summer analysts at my university and local universities (west coast, non-ivy). However, they did invite less people to an invite-only recruiting event than last year. I'm not sure if that is indicative of how many people they are taking for internship.
LOL BAML is not BX or GS or MS or JPM by any means...they dont just recruit at Ivies lol thats for like Centerview or Perella maybe
they take tons of semi-target kids (UCLA/USC) fill the LA office, with the Palo Alto office having USC/UCLA/Stanford/UC Berk/Pen etc..
each office changes based on schools but i know for a fact the LA office had like 4 USC/UCLA SAs. not elite at all.
Nobody is saying BAML is like BX or GS or MS or JPM. They're still a solid bank and I'd love to work for them.
And for what it's worth, I'm pretty sure Centerview recruits at Ross and ND Mendoza. I know for a fact they recruit at Ross, actually, as my friend told me 3 MDs are Ross grads. Perella, on the other hand...
point taken, BAML is still a BB, you're right.
and a reason for that (aside that the MDs want to support their alma matter) is that Ross is ranked as a top 4 b-school for undergrad...weird i think given that they aren't in any major financial hub (ex- NY, SF, Chic...LA even lol ?) but ya they do have hefty OCR and banks love recruiting there
double post
Neither Perella or Centerview only recruit at Ivies.
Where would you suggest the LA office draw from?
they had a study abroad superday last Friday
