Appropriate to send MD resume?

An MD from a top BB came into one of my classes today to speak for a little. I spoke with him after the session for a short period of time. I asked about internships and he gave me his email but didn't mention anything specific about following-up with him. I want to follow-up with him but was wondering if it's appropriate to send him my resume or should I use him as a way to link up with an analyst in the office?

Thanx

Introduce yourself again and then after some bs...lead in with is there someone you could connect me with for applying for an analyst position.

Then he will prolly ask for your resume or he will prolly put you in touch with a recruiter.

I agree with above posters. No resume in your initial email, but make sure your email includes a sentence or two about something he said in his talk that you found interesting. Ask if he'd be willing to talk for 5-10 minutes on the phone. Here are some things you might think about asking his help with. Pick 1-2 only.

Make sure to follow-up with a thank you note, and look to periodically keep the MD apprised of what's going on in your recruiting process. Think about building a long-term relationship instead of just using him for an intro.

Agreed. Hold off on the resume or on resume advice or on the "getting me a job/interview" talk. Use the first several emails to toss some general process questions and group/banker questions his way to gauge his sincerity in passing out his email and his interest in offering some advice/help. From there, you can begin to dig deeper into the SA program, the interview process, recruiting, etc. Check this out for a few questions to kick around: http://www.bankonbanking.com/2009/08/25/effectively-working-the-informa…
