Are y'all actually your titles in the comments or just BSing?

As the title says, I keep seeing comments under posts as "Anonymous-director in IB" and positions like that. How many of y'all are actually being truthful because I'm 99% sure a managing director in IB has more important things to do in his/her day than reply to comments on WSO made by 22-24 year olds or even high schoolers/undergrads. Just sayin.....

Yea makes sense. Associates/VPs is more believable because the age to be one is still relatively young. But "MDs" on this site I'm pretty sure most r just straight up lying cuz afaik the irl MDs are 40s+ with families and probably don't even know this website exists lol

Not sure if I'd say most are lying. You rarely see anyone on this site who puts their tag as MD. And usually the ones I see with it, are often posting some cold hard facts. What's even the point of larping as an MD? I'm sure there are LARPers but I think you're actually underestimating how many older men casually use the internet for shit like this. Heck I've met tonnes of MD-age people on even discord.

Some of us have been around this site for like a decade, man. Purpose of the the discourse has obviously changed, but there are certainly people here that came here for advice on getting into IB and have stuck around as we've moved up the chain.

The site was very active in ~2010, to the point where just about every analyst was on it or had at least heard of it.

Most who were analysts then and stuck with banking are now MDs. I'm not at all surprised that there are a bunch that still have accounts and post semi-regularly. It's not like people change overnight the second they get a fancier title.
