Asia IB Internship to London IB Full-time - Kind advice sought

Hi all, I am going to graduate in May 2008 and am looking to move over from Asia to London for personal reasons and land an IB analyst job in 2008.

I am currently doing an IB internship with Lazard Asia (until April 2008) while at the same time doing my undergraduate studies. I am coping fine with the long hours and school work and am expecting a 2:1 upon graduation. I have good ECs too.

I understand that even with a relevant internship, "ok" results and good ECs, it is still gonna be extremely hard to land an IB analyst job next year upon graduation in London. I have marked out about 50 places to apply to and will be starting my application process soon. I will definitely ask my current supervisors at Lazard for some help too.

I have also managed to take the GMAT while doing the internship and will be applying to do a 1 year masters at a good UK school. The education route is my back up plan to move to London.

I would love to hear from people who have successfully made the switch to London from areas outside of London! Any tips on how to make the process simpler or on improving my chances? Any potential stumbling blocks that I should be warned about?

Thanks!
