Associate asked for my resume.. WTF NOW??
I recently met for coffee with an associate from one of the big 5 Canadian banks.. He tested me a bit to start off, asking me "why banking? Why our bank? Give me your background".. Thankfully I was prepared and feel as if I had an overall good chat with the guy, asked good questions, etc. About 20mins into the chat I found out he was one of the recruitment captains for my school (Canadian target). Just as we were wrapping up, he asked me to send him my resume and that he would get me in touch with one of his colleagues, who is another associate (Im assuming that the colleague is also influential in recruitment).
Should I be excited? Do most junior bankers ask you for your resume, unless youre an idiot? Is this completely negligible?
FYI: rising junior. Referring specifically to SA recuitment for summer 2018
You had a decent chat with him and he asked for your resume. You can safely assume he'll do the same for whoever he has a decent chat with. If your school doesn't have too many heavy duty networkers then it is a god sign. If your school does, then it doesn't mean too much.
Means you will probably get an interview for Summer Analyst Internships if the resume is decent enough, or he just needed to print off some new toilet paper (kidding).
and if he uses this forum you might as well start applying to TOBINCO
TOBINCO -- Justine, are you still accepting intern positions? We might have one more for you.
hahaha
