Associate Base Pay Rising Across Street
1st year Associate Base rising to $175k at multiple banks now. Will other banks follow? How long will it take to become the new standard? Thoughts?

Wasn't base at 120k? That's huge. Does that mean bonuses will take a hit?
thought base was 150 most recently?
Yea over a year ago, most BBs raised 1st year associate base from $125k to $150k
Which banks are at $175?
I know baird offers 175 to all associates
Haven't seen any BBs starting at 175.. generally 140 or 150, with 10-15k increments.
I thought it was 25k increments, 150/175/200 for "street" pay
Yea that’s right, the BBs I know (including the one I work at) are all $25k increases each year
Nope; GS, MS, JPM are still at $150K; until one or all three change, the BB street won't change
I think the MM banks have paid 175 for a while (I think of it as hazard pay for the brain damage non-stop sellsides do to a person).
Street is 150k and will stay that way until, as is tradition, Morgan Stanley ups their base. It's like groundhog day - no one knows why it's just how it goes. Evercore will also always pay Street +15k, as compensation to have to deal with the people at Evercore.
I think it's just baird that pays 175.
Agreed here. And yes, think it is just Baird for MM who keeps it $175k for all associate years.
Doesn't Baird just offer 175k for all three associate years? Where other firms do 150/175/200 or 160/180/200 for some EBs.
I thought Baird flat paid the based for associates and then adjusted accordingly on bonus. I could be wrong and thinking of a dif bank but it was a chicago one.
correct
would a BB increase in associate base impact analyst base as well?
what is street for vp base and does it progress over the years or is it just bonus that goes up
Hearing 250 some places although 175 at some apparently. Would be interested in hearing from others
Depends on the bank and it’s less uniform than associate, but in most cases it keeps going up at 25k increments (I.e. 225k for a VP 1, 250 for VP 2). Base usually caps around 400k at the MD level until you start running a group (but again far more variable depending on bank).
