At a crossroads, could use some advice

HI all,

Rising junior (but in a 5-year program, so technically a sophomore to recruiters - CS/Business dual). Struck out on IB recruiting last year (didn't take it as seriously as I should have and had limited interviews with mediocre performances). Consulting recruiting at my school is beginning to heat up for summer 2027 but I am well aware that IB recruiting for summer 2028 is right around the corner as well.

Felt it'd be good to have some experience in CO in case I didn't enjoy IB so have been networking for CO summer 2027 roles...

End goal is L/S HF but I'm worried I'll recruit for IB again and end up empty-handed again. Thinking of just dropping consulting recruiting and just going all-in on banking recruiting again but would really appreciate some advice as to where to go from here. I know it is technically feasible to go from CO -> PE -> HF which is what I've been considering as a possible path towards my end goal.

For reference I'm Canadian at a "Canadian target" (Ivey/Queens).

Edit: Realizing as consulting timelines get moved up, recruiting for summer 2028 will probably be in the second semester of this upcoming academic year. Wondering if this strengthens the case to focus solely on consulting as I have a year of uninterrupted focus to recruit for two straight summers.
