WHat does it cost you, like 3min to drop a resume?

I don't think it makes a difference at all.. as long as you give yourself plenty of time to write a kick-ass cover letter. From the guy that ran recruiting for the firm where I was an SA, "cover letters are often generic and just a recap of the resume. If you can give me information why you are genuinely interested in our position, I will value that just as much as your resume"

What I took away from this - seem genuine and interested. I know that most BB's just look at resume's, but smaller shops take time to read every aspect of the application, so make sure effort is put into everything. By this.. if it takes you 20 min to write a solid and personalized CL, maybe give yourself 30 min to work on the application before the deadline. Otherwise, just prepare accordingly.

Most deadlines are set while employees aren't in the office. The only difference that makes is 11:59 vs 12:01 (for example). Don't leave it to chance or a shitty internet connection.

In the war against you and the other qualified candidates out there, the best arsenal is to prove that you have outdone yourself.
