Back to Banking After 5 Years
I left the industry during COVID era and now I have an offer to return at the senior associate level. Came up as a junior analyst through senior associate. The last handful of years I’ve been self employed, with a ton of free time and I’ve done a bunch of traveling. The role is capital markets heavy which is fine and would involve a relocation back to NYC, which is also what I’ve wanted lately.
Questions:
How has the industry changed since pandemic era? How much do you use AI tools in your day to day, if at all, and for what tasks?
What is your advice for someone who’s been out of the game for a long time, to make the transition back as smooth as possible?
I feel somewhat nervous. I’m obviously 5 years older. I haven’t been in the weeds in excel or ppt in ages, although I feel like I’d still be comfortable from a deal execution perspective.
Man you could have had a good life, get married, have kids, but instead, you are going back into the pit.
Yo
