Background Check questions

What are the components of a background check? I'm specifically curious about EC checks/references and transcript stuff.

I got a FT offer from BB but haven't signed yet. Don't have professional internship experience, only listed ECs. will I need to list references for my clubs? I don't know how they can check the exact dates for my activities there though (It's not like we had professors/admin as club advisors). I don't have much way in terms of w2 documentation either since it's not like I got paid for ECs

Looking for honest insight and feedback about what I should expect, how I should go about this process.

They use a third party company to conduct this. They’ll have you fill out all relevant info of who they can contact to verify any jobs or clubs. They’ll also ask for your universities academic office to confirm you attended. Not sure how it works with clubs but if they can’t verify your last job they’ll ask for W2 and if no one from your school responds they’ll ask you to submit your diploma or a transcript

hmm just to clarify, I'm a graduating senior. I'll have to think about who they can verify my clubs though. Can I put people who are no longer at the college for my reference? the people I worked with/knew me in my club capacity have since moved on to different jobs...
