Backlog in Model

I have good experience in modeling for various sectors, but found myself at a loss while working on a specific case study. The case is on a CRM/IT consulting company with a pretty ambiguous backlog list given, without common metrics like burn rate. Does anyone have experience in incorporating backlog into a model that could take a look at what I have and maybe give some tips? Thanks in advance.

Backlog as in technology development that has yet to be finished?

Might be able to help feel free to reply or dm.
