Baltimore banks/related career questions

Hi all,

I came across this site recenty, and have found it bo be a useful source of information. I'm contemplating banking for a career, and have a few questions that I would really apreciate some input on. I have a feeling that these sorts of questions pop up frequently, but I've searched through the archives without finding exactly what I'm interested in.

I'm a junior at Georgetown, am a solid student, and I'm a government/international relations major (though I'm taking accounting, have taken econ, etc). I have quite a bit of work experience, though not much of it specifically related to finance (research for a consulting firm, sales work for a tech company, etc). I've been looking at banks in the Baltimore/Washington area, both for this summer and post graduation, and was wondering if a student such as myself would be considered by some of the regional/boutique banks?

Additionally, for a mid sized bank in Baltimore, what could I expect for salary (both short and long term), lifestyle (hours worked, nature of firms), and benefit from an intersnship? Any specific suggestions to look? I'm open to different avenues within ibanking (anything from m&a type work to sales/trading), and I'd really like to get some hands on experience this summer to see where I'd fit in best.

Final question, I have an offer from a boutique in the area to do summer work, but I don't have much information the place (in terms of their revenues, etc.). I'm not sure if it is frowned upon to mention smaller places by name on here, but are there any ways to access this info? I looked through the SEC, but didn't turn up any real info that I found useful.

Thanks for your time, and any comments that you may have. I'm new at the site, so if I have broken any etiquette rules, please kindly let me know so as to avoid the mistakes in the future.
