BAML CHICAGO - Pitch shop?

thanks in advance. I am interested in Chicago banks and hear some say that BAML chicago is a pitch shop. There isn't much execution and most work is financing as opposed to m&a. I've heard phenomenal things about the culture but am kind of dissuaded by the pitch shop aspect. Can someone confirm?

From what I hear they are a solid industrials coverage group with quite a few MDs based out there. Good amount of m&a

Exits are not going to be close to NYC’s office. It’s a good industrials group with decent execution. Heard from past junior bankers the culture was pretty rough for a while but the people causing it have since left (not sure if it was voluntary or they were pushed out). All in all a decent regional office to consider but not one I would pass on NYC for
