BAML IB Phone Interview

I'm a sophomore coming from a target school and I'm wondering what to expect. Most people at my school have told me that BAML's first round interviews are mostly behavioral, but I've seen a few things on WSO that make me think the questions will be pretty technical. My interview is for their Sophomore SA program and my interviewer didn't really give any indication of whether I should expect a lot of technical questions or not. Does anyone have any advice/insight?

Pretty technical. Make sure you know not only the memorized answers but have a strong intuition for the material. For example, make sure you actually understand Enterprise Value and the rationale behind the additions to equity value. Moreover, stay calm and reason out anything you may not understand. In my experience, they ask pretty out there technicals to test your ceiling of knowledge. Good luck.

thanks guys. Did you have to walk through M&A or lbo models? And in terms of accounting, were there any really difficult non-standard accounting questions? or just generally valuation/intuition type questions?

bluemoonclay6 - mine's the first week of January as well

Also in the same boat, have BAML on Thursday, so any tips as to how it went would be really appreciated

received invite yesterday, day still pending. There are 4 super days that apparently they will place candidates into, so waiting to hear back what day I am given.

They'll call you, and Ken Lewis will be on the other end of the phone. You will have 60 seconds to convince him not to shutdown their investment banking division. If you can, you get the position.

If not, you dont. And everyone else in IB at BofA gets fired.

Good luck.
