BAML to join GS in raising analyst salaries via Bloomberg

Can't post the link because I don't have enough banana points. It's from a Bloomberg article from today.

Thoughts? Will 85k soon be starting base salary for all BBs?

They all followed MS, just in a bit different way.

So a lot of articles cite the fact that the banks are doing this to entice analysts to stay but what are the chances PE firms are going to sit back and let the best guys stick around the bank for an extra 15k/year? This has to flow upwards right? Megafund CEOs got paid $500mm a pop last year, there's certainly the $ to bump up PE associate pay and prevent any impact

I think it's more the impact of non finance jobs on new hires. The kids who are choosing FB because they make the same and have better environments.
