Banking in Dubai

Hey!

I'm currently a final year student at a semi target in London. I was born in the UAE but am now a British citizen in the UK (been living here for around 16 years). I really want to move to and work in Dubai but am stuggling with how to go about securing either SA/FT positions there. Does anyone have any tips on how to approach this? I would ideally like to find a summer internship in Dubai for the summer of 2022 but I'm guessing applying directly for the Summer positions at BBs/EBs in Dubai are going to be very hard to get into as I'm based in London? Are there any recuitment websites that anyone knows of that can help me make the move? Any help on the matter is really appreciated!

Also, I'm no longer able to speak Arabic- basically forgotten everything since moving to the UK :(

As you know UK is the area in Europe with a huge number of islamic people, so there are plenty of businesses and employment agencies that look after this area.
Networking: fairly easy to meet business people who are based in that region and regularly visit London
Agencies: I spoke to several before, and the biggest ones were HAYS, Robert Half and another one where I can't remember the name.
tax free for UK tax residency, afaik
a lot of Western companies have made investments into management offices and/or product teams in Dubai, among them both Mastercard and Visa.

I think you should be proactive and contact the agencies yourself. Don't wait for relevant roles to be posted or show up online.
Contact them with a tailor-made CV, tell them your preference to work abroad and why (i.e. cultural, linguistic, local network, heritage, etc)

Also, go onto the local employment websites in the respective location and look for roles posted in English or by UK agencies.

As you have stated, there are numerous restrictions due to Covid and I can't tell you when this all will work out. But it will work out!
