Barclays Finance Division

Guys,

Anybody have any info on Barcap's finance division? I believe it includes product control and Financial control. Anything including exit ops, comp, or specific groups would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Exit ops: other control jobs, maybe risk management or some kind of a trade support role. Comp: normally it's what operations get with a possible 5-10k upside (in bonus and base combined). My friend doing product control at barcap started at 60k and 5k at signing. His bonus came in around 7k. Net net he made what first year ops people made at the BB I work at.

also depending on yoru background, there seem to be two routes that you can follow within Finance .

One is sort of "vanilla" Finance roles where what you do is product controlling, pnl/risk calculations, and some other related stuff. The other is exotics/options Finance and they take kids from Cambridge/LSE/other reputable schools with strong math backgrounds. Salary is somewhere between the ordinary Finance and the FO roles, but with limited upside. I've seen some of those exotics finance folks moving into option trading roles later in their careers.
