Bars/Clubs in NYC

Grew up in LA going to clubs/bars, but have never gone out in NYC. Going to be an SA this summer in NYC and I have a couple of questions:

  • What are some good bars/clubs to go to?
  • As a guy can I get in without having a promoter/plug?
  • Do I need to have a group with girls? What's the typical ratio, 2-1 or 3-1?
  • LA nightlife is a bit like networking if you don't want to spend $$ on a table every time, is NYC the same?

I plan on asking a few analysts when I get there as I'm sure they would have a good idea but wanted to see what the general consensus is.

Lots of clubs sell tickets you can buy online for $10-50 depending on the place and event. And buying a ticket guarantees express entry even if you are by yourself or with a group of guys.

Live in LA and have spent copious amounts of time in nyc and an there frequently. If you’re wanting the club experience in nyc a la WeHo, a club is a club no matter where you go from my experience. Honestly New York bars are more fun than clubs, and I would argue the same in LA. You’re going to find similar experiences in lower manhattan bar scenes as you would going out on Abbott Kinney or in SM
