Base pay +bonus on Wall Street these days...

Hey All,

What is the base pay + bonus (end of year) on Wall Street these days? Does anyone pay OT? I know things aren't as great as they are in '06 but what is the general sentiment? I've gotten a couple of offers in the 70K range...is that too low? too high? Do people negotiate these things?

Thanks!

You're probably not in a position to negotiate, so i would stay away from that or you will no longer have offers. Sounds about average for entry level, but it depends on what area and what type of firm. Same with bonus.

Street: 70k base bonus of 80% to 100% of base

Some boutiques and PE shops pay up to 200k all-in for first year comp

If you have multiple offers for the same position, but at different firms, then you can try negotiating. Works out well if you're relatively indifferent between two firms and leverage one offer at the other

Great info guys, thanks.

Can any of you give insight on how that compares w/ IM/ER? I just had superdays with RaymondJames ER and TRowe IM...I'm thinking PE/HF so I'll probably go the banking route but any color on the compensation there?
