BB Corp Treasury - Comp Question

Not sure what flair this belongs under; but if I was to do corp treasury at a BB what would it look like comp wise?

I see GS is hiring rn for trading associate and salary range is 110-140k (assumin ASO1 to ASO3) - what does total comp look like? Is it close to Front Office (maybe 10-15% lower than S&T)?

Based on the most helpful WSO content, compensation in Corporate Treasury at a BB (bulge bracket) is generally lower than front-office roles like Sales & Trading (S&T) or Investment Banking. While specific total compensation figures for Corporate Treasury aren't explicitly detailed in the dataset, here are some insights:

  1. Base Salary: The range you mentioned for a trading associate at GS ($110-140k) aligns with typical associate-level roles. Corporate Treasury associates at BBs likely fall within a similar base salary range.

  2. Total Compensation: Total comp in Corporate Treasury is typically 10-15% lower than S&T, as you noted. This means bonuses and other incentives are less aggressive compared to front-office roles. For example, if an S&T associate's total comp is $200-250k, a Corporate Treasury associate might expect $170-210k.

  3. Work-Life Balance Tradeoff: While the pay is lower, Corporate Treasury roles often come with better work-life balance compared to front-office positions, which can be a significant factor for many professionals.

If you're considering Corporate Treasury, it’s a solid role with opportunities to build expertise in cash flow management, hedging strategies, and financial planning, which can set you up for future transitions or an MBA.
