Becoming an IB Partner?
Anyone else contemplates becoming an MD/Partner in IB?
Ignore my title. I came from a financially poor background followed by a non-target. The fact that I got into IB is well above any expectations that I had about myself some years ago. Because I don't suffer from the grass always green syndrome, I would have no issues sticking with my bank for decades reaching a top-level position, and becoming a type of go-to person for more difficult decisions. Climbing the corporate ladder and managing office politics is also something that I have no issues with it (actually, I thrive in the latter). Clearly, I like finance otherwise I wouldn't even contemplate this idea.
Any good reasons why I shouldn't pursue it? In a more positive tone, anyone else shares this view?
