Been trying to lateral for a year - 5th time I've finished a process and still no job offer
Just a general vent. Like wtf? It's the fifth time I've finished up a process, going through the entire process, multiple interviews, case study etc. And still no offer, what are the odds of that ffs?
Really don't know what to do at this point.
I've got a top masters lined up in September to try and re-enter the market through grad schemes or lateral out of the MSc, but fuck me - this is torture.
Took me three years and over 30 full processes.

Where are you lateraling from? MO/BO -> FO or FO -> FO?
MO/BO to a mix of FO/Buyside and MO in better location - all for London, UK is my home country
To be blunt: how can you think 5 is too much when you're not doing a FO --> FO lateral in the first place? You should know its super difficult because you're competing with FO -> FO who have FO experience that you don't.
Are these processes for boutiques? or for larger banks?
If I take stock; 2 were credit risk roles at BBs, specifically distressed credit and leveraged credit. One was Fixed Income Investing at a Family office, then fixed income in a global asset manager, then restructuring IB at an EB.
Might risk diverging from the thread but was EB RX via recruiters? or direct application?
Keen to get some advice re: credit / FI stuff.
Same here... Just received my fourth rejection, and I'm FO-->FO. Just gotta keep pushing and keep trying. No one got anywhere difficult by giving up.
