Best banks to work for in securitisation in the UK/Europe?

Which securitised product groups would be best to work for in UK/europe? There are some strong banks in the sector like Lloyds and Santander etc, but globally these aren't bigger names than HSBC or Goldman etc. so should it play a part?

if you had to choose one place to start working (i.e blank CV), would you go for a strong bank in the sector or a bigger household name?

Example: Santander vs BNPP

Bigger household name unless I was 100% sure I wanted to stay in Securitization

^^ btw I say this bcos I interned in securitization but didn't get the return offer to the group, but because of the nature of the bank and my performance, I was able to go to another more traditional banking products group. This might not always be the case at a smaller bank!

Ah got it thanks.

In the case that someone is 95% sure, and there's an opportunity to be a originator/structurer at a smaller name bank but strong securitistion group (i.e., Lloyds or Santander), but there's also another opportunity at a bigger named bank like bnpp or hsbc but in a non front office (instead like analytical role) which one would you go for?

Given that the intention is to move into front office role in the bigger name

Well securitization falls within Investment Banking (at least that's what my designation was) and is FO, so I would definitely go to the smaller bank. I think I saw in the news that HSBC poached a Lloyds securitization banker (Global Capital news site).

If you enjoy the product, then it's a no-brainer: go to the smaller bank.

yeah lmao was just reading that today.

Yeah so just trying to debate between starting off in a FO role that I enjoy at a smaller named bank like Lloyds or Santander then in the future see if I carry on there or move,

or the join the analytics/modelling team at a bigger place (such as HSBC, BNPP,etc) with the goal to get to move into their Securitised products group.

But I guess the role and enjoyment of the product is better so I agree with the smaller bank move.

Really appreciate the help!
