Wells have almost everything in Charlotte, BAML is only IG loan syndication and MM Lev Fin. Truist is probably the next biggest player in town along with Regions / Fifth Third by headcounts. PS / WB / BlackArch are also in town.

My former coworker works at the Lazard office in CLT has said it is now a mix between LFC and LMM (nka Private Market Advisory group). The office has MDs covering healthcare, consumer, food, and retail, industrial software, industrial technology, and specialty distribution. The office has more than doubled in the past year and is continuing to grow quickly with support from Lazard corporate.

Jefferies has ADG, Tech (Tech-Enabled Services), REGAL, and CR. ADG and Tech are very strong, but I know most about tech via my former roommate. TES had a record year in 2021 with something like 30 deals closed, sprinkle of ECM with M&A. All modeling done in house, and the group is split between CLT and NYC. Pay is obviously in line with NYC and he said he really enjoyed his team. Due to their growth and aggressive poaching of senior bankers, JEF doesn't really have a culture set from the top, it is  group dependent. Said this group had solid culture compared to something like HC where they're taking fucking attendance everyday at 9 or whatever that story is. Want to say their entire analyst class went to MM PE, and I'd imagine those will continue to improve given the move upstream they're trying to make.
