Best Industrials Groups on the Street 2026

Hi all,

I’m an incoming SA currently going through group placement and find industrials interesting. Would love to get some clarity on what the best industrials groups on the street are, maybe via general ranking or by vertical.

i haven’t seen a ranking/list that’s been published recently so any thoughts are appreciated!

The Industrials rankings tend to mirror the rankings of banks in general. It’s a big vertical with a lot of deal flow. It’s also very fragmented in terms of market share, so there’s flow to go around across several banks.

  • GS and JP top of street all around
  • MS very solid, good M&A flow
  • Citi and BofA decent - solid balance sheet banks with some M&A flow. BofA pays like ass tho
  • Barc, UBS, WF are decent. UBS is great in leveraged loans, WF is making some good hires and moved up in league tables. Barc is consistently solid
  • MM shops like Baird, Blair etc have good deal flow but are sweaty & deal with janky companies

Generally agree with this but would say that IMO this still probably only covers half of the relevant players in the market. Industrials is such a broad definition that probably makes up a reasonable amount of every (diversified) bank’s wallet.
