Career Resources
GS/JPM top dogs in all verticals. MS strong in T&L rest is weak. DB solid in BS, A&D and automotive. BofA and citi pretty good all around but heard culture at citi is terrible from my roommate
Agreed with DB, note that team is also very toxic some very psycho vps and asc
agree that team has its share of "difficult people"
but is strong nonetheless
Former DB IND analyst here. Seconding the assessment on verticals. Worth noting that the old NRG team (now mostly Chemicals) was merged into IND in 2022. Business Services by far the strongest subvertical at DB. A&D and Paper and Packaging (formerly known as pain and punishment) also very strong in 2024.
Though despite the grueling working hours as an analyst and better deal flow compared to some of the weaker teams (e.g. Consumer / Healthcare), no relative benefit on comp vs. other teams (incl. Capital Markets teams like ECM / DCM). Culture largely positive but unable to retain talent with ~25% of the team - 9 juniors (3An / 6 As /1 VP) leaving laterally (Top-3 BB) or to PE (mid/large cap) in the YTD.
Can comment in the EBs space.
- PWP v good but focused more in German industrials
- Laz is alright with Spiro + Frankfurt office
- PJT recently hired Eduard van Wyk (GS), and have a few ex-Citi / MS Industrials bankers
- Roths, good Industrials & Biz Services team
- Jefferies, good in Industrials
Evercore has a strong Chems team
Isn't Spiro NatRes?
Ah yes you're right! However, some banks tho put NatRes under Industrials e.g DB.
