I’m so close to buying a new MBP but then remembered excel isn’t great and you really can’t use VBA. The only problem is, I have no idea what laptops are the best now a days.. Lenovo? Dell?
$1,000 budget, don’t care about anything but 16GB ram.
I don't own one... But I have had my eyes on Lenovo's X1 Carbon for a long time and have heard great things about it. Not sure when they have their deals besides Black Friday/Cyber Monday. Would also make sure to utilize any company "perksatwork" site, as those typically have savings sometimes.
I have the newest Surface Laptop (3 I think?), one of like the medium tier models, and it runs well and wasn't too expensive. Looked into the Lenovo lines too but 99% sure any of the ones worth getting were at least 1,500$.

Dell Inspiron 7000 with 16G ram, i8, SSD
that Dell 15 inch screen for $800 hits the sweet spot for me

Partial to Lenovos, hard to go back to others after having one for work.
What are the applications you are looking to run? Pretty basic use or do you have specific needs (e.g. gaming)?

I have Lenovo X1 Yoga and I’d say either this or the X1 Carbon are two of the finest machines out there.
