Best way to follow up / stay in touch with connection?

Hi everyone,

I’m a rising senior. Had a call w a VP at a bank who’s an alumni. He seemed to really like my background and I got a really good vibe from him.

- He told me to send him my resume and add my coming internships to it
- He could connect me with people in the city I will be interning right now
- They normally don’t hire straight from undergrad fr this role but he could get me a 1st round interview very likely, I would just have to crush technicals (since they’re not gonna post it there should be 0 to none competition)
- “Keep in touch and definitely reach out to me once you finish your internship this summer”

Now, of course this got me very excited. This is my dream role honestly at one of the few IBs that offer this service.

What would be good to keep in touch throughout the summer? I really want to keep showing my interest? Should I reach out to him to have a mock interview around July? Or is that a bad idea since I could be hiring into his team?

Sincerely,

A non-target
