Best Way(s) to Break Into RX IB, Including Laterals

So I'm currently a junior at a semi target, and my end goal is to get into a good RX IB shop, and then maybe recruit for distressed PE. Not sure about that second part yet, more focused on getting into RX IB. Given how competitive it is, what are the best careers for a lateral into RXIB? In the even that recruiting out of undergrad doesn't work, would like to know what other options are available. Info is kinda sporadic on WSO so would like to see if anyone can give comprehensive advice.

Distressed this, distressed that. Please, distressed debt, (more or less stressed credit)is not as sexy as ‘8-‘11. Apply everywhere and get the best offer you can. That aside what’s all this weird obssession with Rx? I don’t want to hear any bullshit intellectual rigour because most of the term details and ICA are drafted by lawyers

Tbh idc about the intellectual challenge or whatever, the comp is what I'm interested in. Also it opens up traditional IB exits + distressed exits, so no reason not to.

Its the same comp bro. Also distressed comp is generally lower than growthy stuff in the long run.
