Big4 M&A vs MM IB in UK
Hi all,
I'm wondering if someone could help me understand the exit opps (to EB, BB, PE and CorpDev) of Big4 M&A (incl. ACA qualification) vs MM IB (GCA, Canaccord, Raymond James, Stifel etc) within London.
Thanks very much in advance.
Both Big4 M&A and the MM banks you mention are mostly lateraling to UMM places such as Jefferies/WB/Baird and then EB/BB/PE/CorpDev.
Heya, have you happen to see people lateraling from Big four M&A European offices (think francophone) in London? I am on my initial preparation stage, trying to make a list of firms that I should network for.
Yes it is quite common
In London you can go from big 4 (and probably MM) to EB and BB directly (at the Manager level to ANL-3 / ASC-1)
Bout the same but you lose probably £75-100k in earnings potential by joining B4.
Is HL London a lower or upper tier MM? (corp fin)
Most definitely not upper. don't go unless it's restructuring or you have no other ib options. obviously take over big 4 though.
