Bloomberg Internship Offer

Hey guys,

I'm a privileged bastard and I need help. Somebody has won me a summer internship at Bloomberg at an auction, and I will be getting a phone call from a recruiter next week, where I'll get to ask questions and tell them preferences about the nature of my role.

I am interested in IB and I'm a rising sophomore, looking to score something big for my junior year. I was wondering what functions and roles they have for interns at Bloomberg and which ones would be the most relevant and beneficial to this goal. I've heard of the global finance or global data programs there.

If anyone has insight or advice on the specifics, I'd love to get a hand.

Thanks!

zero help but an all time great line from Confessions of a Wall Street Insider...

  • "Where's your wife, Mike?" Liam asked me.
  • I looked down at the floor.
  • "Actually, we separated a few months ago. She found an email on my Blackberry from our Bloomberg rep that had nothing to do with the markets."
  • I gave it my best deadpan, but they still saw through me. Part of Bloomberg's business model seemed to involve sending hundreds of very young, attractive girls to testosterone-infused trading floors throughout the city under the guise of "tech help."
  • I got a few smiles, followed by big gulps of their beers.
  • "Not really," I assured them. "She's just working, But a guy can dream, can't he?"
